It’s been a whirlwind 6 months around here. We have brought on new clients, started on new projects for current clients and submitted lots of applications. All while dealing with a new office puppy nibbling on our toes.
Emily and Sarah have been settling in and doing an amazing job researching and writing. That has allowed me more time on messaging, networking and expanding our reach. We try to bring value to our clients that will go far beyond just submitting applications.
A great example happened just last week when I was able to bring together two clients – Ellicottville Brewing Company and Bootleg Bucha – to meet and talk about their shared interests. They are both brewers and so they face similar manufacturing challenges. Both are growing quickly and starting to dominate the market in their area. They had a great time touring the new facility that is coming together at Bootleg, I have never experienced such an in-depth conversation about floor drains and piping! In the end, Peter at EBC ordered four kegs of Kombucha to offer on tap at his restaurant and they discussed future opportunities to work together.
We also just updated our list of grants that we have written and what has been funded. We have a lot of applications outstanding right now (it is CFA season after all), but if you take those out of the mix until we find out the outcome then we are averaging a 60% approval rate – which is quite high for the industry and I can say that we are very proud!
So please keep checking back in with our news. Emily and Sarah will keep you updated on what we are doing for our clients. And we might even occasionally throw in a photo of Milo tickling our toes!
