What’s better than women helping other women thrive professionally? Absolutely nothing. Considered as Western New York’s “Home of Women Entrepreneurship” our client, The Women’s Business Center at Canisius College (WBC), does just that.
If you have a friend looking to start a business…
The WBC can help! Through their collaborative leadership development program, the Women’s Business Center empowers women entrepreneurs by supporting economic opportunities and business growth through all stages of ownership. They also facilitate success through providing resources such as education, connections, and community to their clients.
The WBC is very fortunate to be funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The U.S. Small Business Administration is an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns.
A few months ago, I helped with the re-application process for a new WBC Renewal Grant through the SBA so they can continue to be funded and execute their mission.
The WBC is so incredibly lucky to be an SBA funded Women’s Business Center, as they are the only women’s business center between Buffalo to Syracuse to receive this opportunity.
From my experience collaborating with The Women’s Business Center, my overall impression is that they’re incredibly passionate and competent in helping women succeed so their businesses can thrive and have a positive impact on our community. You have many options. Do you want to participate in finance boot camp? They can help you. Do you need marketing resources? They can help you. The list goes on.
