As a for-profit client, UEC worked with CH4 Biogas to secure over $2.25 Million to build an anerobic digester in Genesee County, NY.  An anaerobic digester is a large tank or vessel where organic waste, like food scraps or animal waste, is decomposed by bacteria in the absence of oxygen. This process creates biogas, primarily methane, which can then be used for heating, electricity generation, or fuel.

CH4 Biogas’ digester help the local dairy industry divert organic waste that is then converted into biogas to be used as an energy source in the local community. Funding this technology on a large scale is a small part of the puzzle to help NYS transition to a clean energy economy by 2050 and UEC is proud to be a small part of making this happen.
